Rabbi Aaron Mark Petuchowski

Rabbi Aaron Mark Petuchowski has been our spiritual leader since July 1997, having previously served at Temple Sinai in Roslyn, New York, for 14 years.

He attended Indiana University, and received his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Illinois. He was ordained by the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in New York in 1983. Pastoral, scholarly, and highly articulate, Rabbi Petuchowski is the son and great-grandson of rabbis. He is the coeditor (with his mother Dr. Elizabeth Petuchowski) of Studies in Modern Theology and Prayer, a volume of essays written by his late father, Dr. Jakob J. Petuchowski. Rabbi Petuchowski serves on the Rabbinic Advisory Group of the World Union of Progressive Judaism, a member of the B’nai Yaakov Council of the Jacob Rader Marcus Center of the American Jewish Archives, a member of the national board of ARZA, and a member of the Board of Planned Parenthood of Chicago. In addition, he is very active in the Lakeview community in the areas of interfaith relations and interdenominational programming with our Conservative and Orthodox neighbors. Proud father of Benjamin, Joshua and Emily, Rabbi Petuchowski is married to Janese, an occupational therapist.

To contact Rabbi Petuchowski, you may call Nancy Henig, Executive Assistant, at 773-435-1531.
