Rabbi Taron Tachman

Ordained in 2004 by the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in New York, Rabbi Tachman earned his undergraduate degree in Psychology at Michigan State University. He went on to earn a Master’s of Social Work at the University of Michigan and a Certificate in Jewish Communal Service and Judaic Studies from the Sol Drachler Program in Jewish Communal Leadership at the University of Michigan. Among his various roles at Temple Sholom, Rabbi Tachman especially enjoys serving as the liaison to the Gan Shalom Pre-School, the Temple Brotherhood, Young Couples, the Young Adult (20’s and 30’s) community and the Young Adult sponsored Monday Meal. Rabbi Tachman also serves on the Associates Division Executive Committee of the Jewish Council on Urban Affairs, is a rabbinic liaison to the Sidney N. Shure Kehilla Program and the COOP committee of Chicago organizations serving Young Adults.
