Shabbat

Services enable members of Temple Sholom of Chicago to come together in affirmation, renewal and celebration. Services are a traditional and contemporary blend of Hebrew and English, in word and song. The Temple pulpit is one of the nation's most distinguished. Over the years Rabbi Isaac Mayer Wise, the Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr., Joseph Cardinal Bernardin, Francis Cardinal George and Mayor Richard M. Daley have been guest preachers. We invite you to come and worship with us on Shabbat. Get to know us, meet our clergy and members and see the Temple.

Shabbat Morning: Shabbat mornings are a mixture of study and worship. Our traditional Shabbat morning Services, at 10:30 a.m., are led by our Rabbis, Cantor and, on some Shabbats, include those that are becoming a Bar or Bat Mitzvah.

Tot Shabbat is held on the third Saturday of each month (September through June) at 9:30 a.m. This Service is designed for toddlers and preschool age children to celebrate Shabbat with their families. It is a joyful experience that involves an age-appropriate Shabbat Service, along with storytelling, singing and special projects.

Tot Shabbat has expanded to Friday nights! Families with children 5 years old and under are invited to share in an age-appropriate Friday Evening Service followed by a traditional Shabbat dinner. Please call the Temple at 773-525-4707, extension 330, for dates and more information about our Tot Shabbat Friday Nights.
